It is indicated for the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections and periodontal disease. It's also used to treat urinary tract infections.
Amoxicillin is a moderate-spectrum, beta-lactam penicillin-like antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It works by killing bacteria, which prevents growth.
Clavulanate potassium is a powerful inhibitor of many beta-lactamase enzymes in penicillin-resistant organisms, it combines its action with amoxicillin to enhance and broaden the spectrum of penicillin.

What is Amoxicillin + Clavulanate used for?
It's used to treat infections such as:
- mastitis in lactating dairy cows
- skin and soft tissue infections
- periodontal disease
- urinary tract infections
What animals can be treated with Amoxicillin + Clavulanate?
This medicine is recommended for dogs, cats, pigs and cows. Do not use amoxicillin to treat rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, or other small mammals, as it may cause enteritis or clostridial enterotoxemia in these animals.
How is Amoxicillin + Clavulanate used?
This medication has been manufactured as a liquid suspension, which is intended to be administered by injection.
Is there a withdrawal period after treatment with Amoxicillin + Clavulanate?
For cows and pigs, the withdrawal period is 14 days after treatment. For milk, the withdrawal period is 60 hours.
Dosage
How much Amoxicillin + Clavulanate should be given to cows?
The usual dose is 8.75mg per 1kg of body weight (about 1ml per 20kg of body weight). Only administer through the intramuscular route.

Side Effects

- is a small herbivore mammal, such as a guinea pig or a rabbit.
Treatment with this drug should be administered with caution in an animal that:
- is undergoing anticoagulation therapy with drugs such as methotrexate or warfarin.
- is pregnant or lactating.
Amoxicillin may also cause a false positive result on a urine glucose test.
