What is Ringer Lactate Injection?

Ringer Lactate (Hartmann's) Injection is an isotonic solution that is used for intravenous rehydration therapy. It is used to replace lost electrolytes in the treatment of burns, gastrointestinal fluid loss, and acute blood loss. This Injection may also be directly applied to the eyes following a chemical burn.
Ringer Lactate is also called "Lactated Ringer's Solution". It is a mixture of four salts: sodium chloride, sodium lactate, potassium chloride, and calcium chloride.
Ringer Lactate (Hartmann's) Injection may also be used to wash the eyes after a chemical burn. It is directly applied to the area in this situation.
