What is Ampicillin + Cloxacillin?
Active Ingredients: Ampicillin, Cloxacillin
Ampicillin + Cloxacillin for Injection is a fixed-dose combination antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, such as those of the respiratory tract, ear, nose and throat, urinary tract, and gastrointestinal system. It is effective against gram-negative organisms such as H. influenza.
Ampicillin is a broad-spectrum, beta-lactam penicillin antibiotic. It is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.
Cloxacillin Sodium is a beta-lactamase-resistant penicillin antibiotic that has been derived from oxacillin. The active ingredient works by inhibiting protein synthesis in the bacterial cell wall. It does not show activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Precautions
Do NOT use Ampicillin + Cloxacillin for Injection if:
- You are allergic to Ampicillin, Cloxacillin, or other penicillin antibiotics.
- You have mononucleosis.
- You have been recently given or will be getting a vaccine.
There are known possible drug interactions with methotrexate. Consult with a doctor about any medications you are taking before treatment with Ampicillin.
The use of this antibiotic during pregnancy may increase the chance of miscarriage. Breastfeeding while taking this medication can cause sensitization. Consult a doctor or healthcare professional before treatment.
