What is Ampicillin + Cloxacillin?
Active Ingredients: Ampicillin, Cloxacillin
Ampicillin + Cloxacillin for Injection is a fixed-dose combination antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, such as those of the respiratory tract, ear, nose and throat, urinary tract, and gastrointestinal system. It is effective against gram-negative organisms such as H. influenza.
Ampicillin is a broad-spectrum, beta-lactam penicillin antibiotic. It is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.
Cloxacillin Sodium is a beta-lactamase-resistant penicillin antibiotic that has been derived from oxacillin. The active ingredient works by inhibiting protein synthesis in the bacterial cell wall. It does not show activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Precautions
Do NOT use Ampicillin + Cloxacillin for Injection if:

There are known possible drug interactions with methotrexate. Consult with a doctor about any medications you are taking before treatment with Ampicillin.
