What is Ganciclovir?
Active Ingredients: Ganciclovir
Ganciclovir Eye Gel is a topical antiviral drug used to treat acute herpetic keratitis (dendritic ulcers), that are caused by the herpes simplex virus. Corneal ulcers are a leading cause of blindness in the world. This medication will not cure the virus infection and patients may develop similar symptoms in the future.
Ganciclovir is a DNA polymerase inhibitor that belongs to the class of medicines called antivirals. It works by stopping viral replication, which decreases the severity of symptoms and duration of illness.
