It is indicated in the treatment of neoplastic conditions, such as leukemia, neuroblastoma, sarcoma, and Wilms' tumor. Doxorubicin HCl is often used in a combination chemotherapy regimen with other cytotoxic drugs.

The active ingredient, Doxorubicin, is an anthracycline antibiotic and a topoisomerase II inhibitor. Doxorubicin works by slowing and stopping the growth of cancer cells. Doxorubicin Hydrochloride is sometimes called Hydroxy Doxorubicin Hydrochloride.

Uses

What is Doxorubicin used for?

It is used to treat cancer, often in combination with other antineoplastic drugs. Doxorubicin HCl is indicated for the treatment of many types of cancer, including:

Do NOT use Doxorubicin HCl if:

  • You have severe heart rhythm problems.
  • You have had a recent myocardial infarction.
  • You have severe liver function impairment.
