Domperidone Oral Suspension is an antiemetic drug used to relieve nausea and vomiting. It is recommended for adults and children over the age of 12 years old and weighing greater than 35kg. Domperidone is sometimes used to treat stomach pain in palliative care or to increase milk supply during breastfeeding (off-label).
Domperidone is classified as a dopamine antagonist. It works by blocking the dopamine receptors that are responsible for nausea.

What is Domperidone Oral Suspension used for?
It is used to relieve symptoms like nausea, vomiting, indigestion, dyspepsia, and epigastric pain.
How is Domperidone Oral Suspension used?
This medication is manufactured as a liquid to be taken orally. This medication should be taken before meals.
What dose should be taken?
For adults, the usual dose is 10ml, taken up to 3 times per day.
The duration of treatment should not exceed 7 days.

Side Effects

Precautions
Do NOT use Domperidone Oral Suspension if:
- You are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
- You have moderate or severe hepatic impairment.
- You have a prolactinoma.
- You have certain gastrointestinal problems, such as hemorrhage, perforation, or obstruction.
- You have a known prolongation of cardiac conduction intervals.
- You suffer from significant electrolyte imbalances.
Domperidone should not be administered alongside QT-prolonging drugs or potent CYP3A4 inhibitors. Due to possible drug interactions, consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking before your treatment.
The lowest effective dose should be taken for the shortest duration of treatment possible.
This medicine is not recommended for children less than 12 years of age or people weighing less than 35kg.
This medicine should only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if the benefits outweigh the risks. Consult a doctor or healthcare professional before treatment.
