What is Cefalexin used for?
It is used for the treatment of certain bacterial infections, such as:

- throat infections, such as streptococcal pharyngitis

How is Cefalexin for Oral Suspension used?
This medication is manufactured as a liquid to be taken orally. It should be taken by mouth with or without food as directed by a doctor.
After opening, this oral medication should be stored in a cool place, preferably a refrigerator. It should remain stable for up to 14 days in ideal conditions.
What dose should be taken?
For general bacterial infections, the usual dose for adults is 250mg/5ml, taken three times daily.
The usual dose for children is 25-50mg/kg per day, taken every 6-12 hours. The dosage and duration of treatment are dependent on the weight, type and severity of the infection.
