What is a Troponin Test Kit (cTnI)?
A Troponin Test Kit (cTnI) is a medical diagnostic tool used to detect troponin levels within a patient's blood. Troponin is a protein released by the heart muscle when it is damaged. This test is conducted to diagnose and monitor certain types of heart conditions, including myocardial infarction and angina.
Troponin rapid test kits are portable and easy-to-use devices that are used by a wide variety of healthcare professionals, including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, paramedics, and more.
The Troponin Test Kits (cTnI) are manufactured by AdvaCare Pharma, a leading pharmaceutical company. These cardiac marker test kits have been produced in strategically-located facilities across India, China, and the USA.
Product Specifications
Specimen
For Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma samples, blood can be obtained using either the standard venipuncture method with 2 drops of blood or the fingerstick method with 50 μL of blood. In the case of serum/plasma samples, the blood is centrifuged before transferring to the designated area of the cassette. This can be done using a capillary tube or dropper. Following the transfer of the specimen, a drop of the appropriate buffer dilution is added immediately to initiate the test process.
Form
Cassette is a container made of plastic that has a test strip inside. The box has a specific area for sample application and a window in which the positive, negative, or invalid results can be viewed.
The test strip includes reagents that respond to the protein cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in the sample.

Uses
How should a Troponin Test Kit (cTnI) be used?
1. Acquire a whole blood sample from the patient. Process by centrifugation, if needed. 2. Add the specimen to the sample well of the cassette. 3. Apply a few drops of buffer solution. 4. Wait the designated amount of time. 5. Observe the lines and interpret the results according to the instructions in the test kit.
Any test kit that is damaged or past its printed expiration date should be discarded.
How should a used Troponin Test Kit (cTnI) be disposed of?
It is recommended to put used test kits in a biohazard bag. After the bag is sealed tightly, it should be disinfected and discarded in a medical waste container.
How should Troponin Test Kits (cTnI) be stored?
Any unused test kits should be stored in their original packaging in a dry location at room temperature.
FAQs
How does a Troponin Test Kit (cTnI) work?
This test is based on a chromatographic immunoassay or lateral flow assay.
What is Troponin?
Cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) is a specific protein that is only found within the heart muscle. After the heart is damaged, the muscles release this protein into the bloodstream. Elevated levels can be detected using a troponin test kit.
How is a Troponin Test Kit different from other cardiac marker tests?
Troponin test kits are considered to be more specific and sensitive than other tests, such as the creatine kinase (CK) or myoglobin tests, for the detection of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Compared to other cardiac markers, troponin has a longer half-life, which gives a wider window for the detection and diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction.
How long does it take to get the results of a Troponin Test Kit (cTnI)?
A rapid test kit typically delivers results within 15-20 minutes.
What are the advantages of a Troponin Test Kit (cTnI)?
Some of the advantages of the cardiac troponin I rapid test include highly accurate and quick results. The test is easy to use and cost-effective. It offers point-of-care testing for emergency settings and rural medical clinics, as well. #When compared with traditional laboratory testing, these factors can provide faster diagnoses, which helps to improve patient outcomes.
