What is a Chlamydia Test Kit?
A Chlamydia Test Kit is a medical diagnostic tool used to detect the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis in endocervical or urethral samples. These rapid antigen testing kits are produced with all the necessary components and are intended to be easy to use, which makes them suitable for both laboratory and at-home use.
Chlamydia rapid testing kits are produced either as a cassette or strip, both of which feature immunoassay technology. Each diagnostic kit includes a female endocervical swab or male urethral swab, which allows for accurate and reliable results for specific anatomical areas.
AdvaCare Pharma is the supplier of Chlamydia Test Kits, which are manufactured in ISO and CE-certified facilities in India, China, and the USA. Every facility is regularly inspected to ensure they are compliant with healthcare standards for quality and safety.

Female Endocervical Swab
Female Endocervical Swab is inserted into the endocervical canal, past the squamocolumnar junction until most of the tip is no longer visible. This will allow the acquisition of columnar or cuboidal epithelial cells, which are the main reservoir of the Chlamydia organism. Firmly rotate the swab 360° in one direction (clockwise or counterclockwise), let it rest for 15 seconds, and then remove the swab. Avoid contamination with exocervical or vaginal cells. The swab comes in a sterile blister pack and right after collecting the sample, it is placed in the extraction tube with two different reagents to proceed with the test.
Male Urethral Swab
Male Urethral Swab is inserted into the urethral about 24cm, rotate the swab 360°in one direction (clockwise or counterclockwise), let stand for 10 seconds, then withdraw. The swab comes in a sterile blister pack, and right after collecting the sample, it is placed in the extraction tube with two different reagents to proceed with the test.
Cassette
Cassette consists of a plastic enclosure that contains a test strip. There is a specific area for sample placement and a window that shows the test results as positive, negative, or invalid.
The immunochromatographic assay-based test strip inside of the cassette is used for detecting chlamydia antigens in human endocervical or urethral swab specimens.
Strip
Strip is a piece of thin plastic that contains reactive agents. Each strip has an area for sample application and an area where the test results are displayed.
The strip utilizes an immunochromatographic assay, which can be used for the qualitative detection of chlamydia bacteria antigens in human endocervical or urethral specimens.

1. Collect a sample by swab. 2. Insert the swab into the buffer tube. 3. Apply the sample to the cassette well or the designated area on the strip, as indicated by the product instruction. 4. Wait the designated time and read the results. 5. Interpret the test results according to the included guide.
How should Chlamydia Test Kits be stored?
It is recommended to keep unused chlamydia test kits in a dry location between 5-30°C. The test kits should be kept in their original packaging until use.
FAQs
How does a Chlamydia Test Kit work?
The test kit for chlamydia is based on a chromatographic immunoassay. The specimen is applied to the sample area. It then migrates to the reactive pad, where it will bind with chlamydia-specific antibodies. If antigens are present in the sample, they will react with the antibodies and produce a visible signal on the test cassette or strip.
How accurate is the Chlamydia Test Kit?
The accuracy of the chlamydia rapid antigen test kit may vary depending on the quality of the sample and the experience of the administrator. It is important to note that no rapid antigen test is 100% accurate, and additional testing may be necessary in certain cases.
Is the Chlamydia Test Kit easy to use?
The chlamydia antigen rapid test kit is designed to be easy to use. It includes all the essential components necessary for the test, so it can be performed by a healthcare professional or used at home.
Who should be tested with a Chlamydia Test Kit?
It is recommended that sexually active individuals under the age of 25 be screened regularly for chlamydia. Pregnant women should also be tested during their initial prenatal visit.
