What is Piperazine Citrate Syrup?
Active Ingredients: Piperazine Citrate
Piperazine Citrate Syrup is an antiparasitic drug used for the treatment of intestinal parasite infections in companion animals like cats and dogs. It is indicated for dogs and cats over 2 weeks of age. Piperazine is rapidly absorbed and begins to work in as little as 30 minutes after treatment.
Piperazine works by blocking neuromuscular transmission within the parasite. This action leads to the paralysis and eventual death of the worm. It shows activity against ascarids and certain other nematodes, including Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris Leonina and hookworms.
