Oxytetracycline HCl is a salt of oxytetracycline. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic in the tetracycline family, which has been derived from the fermented product of Streptomyces rimosus. Oxytetracycline works by inhibiting protein synthesis in the bacteria.
