What is Amlodipine + Atenolol?

Therapeutic Class:

Active Ingredients: Amlodipine, Atenolol

Amlodipine + Atenolol Tablets are a fixed-dose combination drug used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure) that has not been controlled by monotherapy. This drug is also indicated for the treatment and prevention of angina (chest or heart pain) and as a post-myocardial infarction medication.

This combination is an effective antihypertensive agent. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist, which inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into the cardiac muscles and vascular smooth muscles. Atenolol is a potent cardio-selective beta-blocker. It reduces blood pressure by lowering cardiac output.
